✍️ Big Signatures, Summer Songs & a Founding Father FAIL 🎆
Happy Fourth (but really… Second?) of July!
An Independence Day Edition of Inside Brian’s Brain

Did you know John Adams insisted that July 2nd would go down in history as our day of celebration? He was so convinced that he wrote to his wife Abigail saying:
“The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America.”
WELL… he got that totally wrong. (Whoops!) July 4th ended up being the date printed on the Declaration—and the one we fire off fireworks for.
💥 That got me thinking: What’s something YOU were totally convinced was right… until it wasn’t? Hit reply and confess your most confident wrongness. Let’s celebrate our historical oops moments together.
✍️ Speaking of July 4th legends…
JOHN HANCOCK left a BIG mark on history with his signature. I’m currently obsessed with the idea of making your mark—literally. For the SPARK & SPLASH event on July 21st, I’m collecting an epic set of signatures (real, fictional, and just plain fascinating).
Question for YOU:
If your students could collect ANY signature past or present, real or imaginary whose would they want?
Let me know! I might just include it in the final collection.
🔥 Not registered for SPARK & SPLASH yet? Spots are going fast!
We’re serving up brand-new resources with bold ideas and a spicy twist.
🎶 SONG OF THE SUMMER?
I’m building a mixtape.
But so far… no one song has taken over my brain this summer (yet).
That said, I’ve got a few classics that come back year after year.
Now it’s your turn:
What song is stuck in YOUR head on repeat?
Reply and tell me what your personal anthem is—2025 or timeless throwback, I want it on the list.
Enjoy the fireworks, the family, and the freedom to be gloriously, confidently wrong once in a while.
💡Stay curious,
Brian
P.S. Did you catch the glorious goof in the header graphic? It may not be an EPIC FAIL, but it's there to see if you are paying attention!
