Today's Curious Quotes, Points To Ponder, & Inspiring Insights. slide of the day features a quote from Disney Imagineer Alex Wright and completes our week of curiosity quotes. In 2016, NAGC held its annual convention at Walt Disney World and featured Alex Wright as a keynote speaker. While it was fascinating to hear his behind the scenes stories, the one thing that stuck in my mind was when he said, "Curiosity is the root of creativity." Everything that we see at the Disney parks comes from someone being curious, asking questions, and wondering what might happen if. As kids we are filled with this type of incessant curiosity, but we are quick to toss it aside as we become adults. Yet if we want to be more creative, we should try thinking like a kid.

For this slide I wanted to play off of the root metaphor and searched for an image that show an elaborate root system. I enhanced the photo and bumped up the color saturation to make it more vibrant. I cropped the photo to provide a spot for the quote to fit in at the top of the slide on a black background. I tried to used every available pixel, and it comes dangerously close to the edge. So, you want to make sure that your projector is set up properly so it fits on the screen. The quote is in one of my go to fonts, Bebas Neue. I like it because it is a slender font that allows you to easily fit a lot of characters on a single line while using a very large font. This is a 200 point font on the slide. Also, it has a very similar look to Helvetica which is the font that I used for the name and title in the corner. I used the small caps feature for the name to let the initials stand out. This concludes our week of quotes about curiosity and provides a natural segue way into next week's theme: CREATIVITY.
