It's Week Three of Curious Quotes, Points To Ponder, & Inspiring Insights. This week, it's all about creativity. Today's quote comes from Steve Jobs and discusses the relationship between creativity and synthesis. When Bloom's Taxonomy of Educational Objectives was revised by by Anderson and Krathwohl in 2001, we saw the shift from nouns to verbs and the replacement of synthesis by create. While I am all for creativity, I was initially disappointed that synthesis was removed. However, in a Wired Magazine interview, Steve Jobs explains that creativity is really just the act of synthesis.
For this slide, I rely on the classic photo with text next to it. I chose smug photo of a young Steve Jobs holding an apple because I love the swagger that he displays. It is almost as if he is daring you to take a bite of the apple. For the quote, I used the SF Pro Display font which is currently Apple's official font. I used varying font sizes to place emphasis on the parts of the quote that I wanted to highlight.
