Powered by SCAMPER | Created by Brian Housand
Effective Date: October 15, 2026
Welcome to The Remix Lab!
The Remix Lab helps educators transform ordinary objects, concepts, and classroom challenges into imaginative learning experiences using SCAMPER-inspired creative-thinking strategies.
By accessing or using The Remix Lab, you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. About the Service
The Remix Lab is an educational creativity tool developed by Brian Housand.
It provides SCAMPER-inspired thinking moves, instructional suggestions, and creative prompts designed to help educators develop classroom-ready Remix Briefs and enrichment experiences.
The service is intended primarily for teachers, gifted education specialists, curriculum designers, and other educators.
2. Access and Availability
The Remix Lab operates through ChatGPT and requires access to a compatible ChatGPT account.
The Remix Lab does not currently charge a separate fee for using its MCP tool. However, access to ChatGPT and certain features may depend on your OpenAI account, subscription, and applicable usage limits.
Features, availability, and functionality may change as the service develops.
3. Appropriate Use
You agree to use The Remix Lab responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws and OpenAI's terms and policies.
Please do not:
-
Submit personally identifiable student information or sensitive student records.
-
Use the service to generate unlawful, harmful, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate educational content.
-
Attempt to disrupt, misuse, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
-
Misrepresent AI-generated instructional suggestions as verified research or established educational findings.
The Remix Lab is intended as a professional resource for educators, not as an independent AI service for children under 13.
4. Educational Responsibility
The Remix Lab is a creative-thinking partner, not a replacement for professional judgment.
Educators are responsible for reviewing, adapting, and evaluating suggestions before using them with students.
AI-assisted content may contain errors, incomplete information, or recommendations that are not appropriate for every student or learning environment.
Users should consider student needs, accessibility, instructional goals, local policies, and applicable educational standards.
5. Intellectual Property and Classroom Use
The Remix Lab's original branding, instructional framework, curated materials, and presentation are developed by Brian Housand.
SCAMPER is an established creative-thinking technique associated with Bob Eberle and earlier brainstorming work. The Remix Lab builds upon this tradition and does not claim ownership of the SCAMPER technique.
Educators are welcome to use and adapt Remix Briefs and instructional ideas generated through the service for teaching and professional learning, subject to applicable laws, third-party rights, and OpenAI's terms.
Using The Remix Lab does not grant permission to reproduce or commercially distribute its proprietary branding, source code, or original curated materials without authorization.
6. Third-Party Services
The Remix Lab relies on external services, including OpenAI and Render, to provide its functionality.
Your use of ChatGPT is also governed by OpenAI's applicable terms and policies.
We are not responsible for interruptions or changes to third-party services outside our control.
7. Privacy
Your use of The Remix Lab is also subject to our Privacy Policy:
