Today's Curious Quotes, Points to Ponder, & Inspiring Insights slide of the day highlights a classic, simple, and elegant approach to slide design with a quote from the classic, simple, and elegant Audrey Hepburn. This style of a quote slide is just about as "classic" and cliché as it gets: A photo of a person next to a quote usually with white text on a black background. I think that the reason for that is that it just seems to really work and it is easy to create.
While there are many iconic images of Audrey Hepburn from her long list of films, I chose to be responsible and use this image since is a part of the public domain. The photograph is also used as the profile picture on her Wikipedia entry. On that page, there is also an image of her signature which I added to the bottom right corner. I resized the signature so that it fits mostly on her sleeve and allows for good viewing. I slid the image just off the page to allow for about 2/3 of the black background to use for the quote. Otherwise, the quote would seem squished. Since the quote is so short, then I chose to leave a lot of blank space at the bottom. Depending on how the screen is set up, when quotes get too close to the bottom sometimes it is difficult for people to see. I also like that she seems to be looking at the quote. It just did not work as well to have the quote centered in the empty space. I used all caps and a bold, italicized, underlined, and condensed font to allow for I'M POSSIBLE to really stand out and make its point.
